In previous articles we have deepened the archaeological site of Su Nuraxi and the Museums of Casa Zapata. Last stop on our tour to the discovery of Barumini Nuragic Village is the Center of Communication and Promotion of Cultural Heritage "Giovanni Lilliu", impressive modern property made to improve the cultural and tourist services of the territory.
Opened in 2008 the Center of Communication and Promotion of Cultural Heritage of Barumini is a multifunctional space equipped with numerous exhibition halls able to accommodate temporary exhibitions, literary reviews and a variety of cultural events. A work of priceless cultural value that could only be dedicated to the figure of John Liliu, professor of Sardinian origins to which we owe the discovery Archaeological Area “Su Nuraxi”.
From an architectural and structural point of view, the large building where the seat highlights the combination of wall masses and open spaces; closed environments in which perform various activities and a large outer court in which it fully expresses the multifunctionality of space.
Everything reminds Nuraghe. The main entrance is made precisely in one of these towers and introduces with great impact to ever live spaces like infopoint the ticket, the café and bookshop.
The fulcrum of the Area's promotion of Barumini, The Center hosts varied and interesting permanent exhibitions. Particularly interesting are:
