Events that take place in Alberobello during the year

Alberobello events

Alberobello, the city of the Trulli, in addition to being a very characteristic and loved by all, it offers many events throughout the year to attract tourists and curious people to visit it.

Here are what they are:

• March April – U fucarazz d San Gsepp a Iarubbedd – Bonfire of San Giuseppe in Alberobello: and he prepares the Bonfires of San Giuseppe and the people of the neighborhood shared what he was preparing with others… We celebrate together both for the feast of St. Joseph but also to anticipate the arrival of spring. A beautiful atmosphere!;
• March April – Living Passion organized by’ “Association from Bethlehem to Jerusalem” to celebrate the Passion of Christ;
• 18 mggio – Diocesan Youth Methink At The Pace Of The Spirit;
• 26 May – Award for honorary citizenship to Lino Banfi: day in which the co-regional Banfi is honored with an important prize;
• 27 May – Historical re-enactment of the “Alberobello liberation”: recounts the events that led to the 27 May 1797, to free Alberobello from the feudal regime after so many centuries. Finally the inhabitants gained civil rights;
• 12 June – Video / Photo Competition "Badness always amazes me" organized by’ “Free University University Association” Don Giacomo Donnaloja: young people participate 14 to 19 years with a maximum of 3 photo o 1 unpublished videos;
• 3 July at 20.00 – Choral Festival organized by the Music School “A.m.a”. They will be present:
• Chorus of white voices “Nova Artistudium” – Carbonara (Ba);
• Youth choir “Imelda Cowdrey” – Carbonata (Ba);
• Sudcontrocanto Choir – Carbonata (Ba);
• Chorus of white voices from the 2nd Circle “Saint Francis of Assisi” – Santeramo in Colle (Ba);
• Chorus of white voices from the Pro Loco – Santeramo in Colle (Ba);
• Chorus of white voices “A.m.a” – Carbonara (Ba);
• 25 July – Feast of Madonna della Madia “Madonna of Caesar”
• 19 October hours 19.30 – Solidarity evening organized by the Alberobello Alzheimer Association: culinary evening (panzerotti, mozzarella, drinks) and playful ( dancing in joy with Anna Perrini and final quadrille with the participation of Miriam and Leo di Teletrullo). The event will take place at the Panoramic Trulli. Event that aims to raise awareness of the reception of the person with dementia;
• 25 e 28 September – Feast of Saints Medici Cosma and Damiano: the cult of the Medici Saints was decided by Count Giangirolamo II Acquaviva and his wife Isabella Filomarino. The Basilica of SS. Medici is a destination for devotees who ask for grace;
• December – Nativity scenes and living nativity scene: the Living Nativity Scene organized by the Cultural Association “Da Betlemme a Ge­rusalemme” while the National Exhibition of Traditional and Artistic Nativity Scenes is at the Territory Museum “Pezzolla house” from the 2003;
• 4 December hours 19.00 – Catholic Action “Saints Medici” presents, at the Parish Library (via Diaz) -Alberobello, the book “New secularism and responsible laity” by prof. Tommaso Type
• 18 December hours 21.00 – Christmas Songs organized by: Province of Bari – Presidency of the Province and Department of Culture and Tourism of the Province of Bari in the Basilica SS. Cosma and Damiano with the Bari Province Symphony Orchestra Conductor – Raffaele Minale;

Conclusions

Alberobello is an area full of events very followed also by people who come from outside to assist as they are unforgettable events represented in the splendid show of the “fable” of Trulli.
