In the squares, in the Castle moat, on the streets, Barletta relives the atmosphere of 1503, when the Italian knights led by Ettore Fieramosca got the better of the French of La Motte. The famous historical event, which saw the audacity of the Italians rewarded at the time of the harassment between the Spanish and French for the dominions of southern Italy, it is still a source of pride for the people of Barletta today, engaged every year in the costume re-enactment. For the event Barletta is decorated with Spanish banners, shields and torches that illuminate the alleys of the historic center. Famous actors also took part in the re-enactment and played the role of the legendary warriors: we remember Danny Quinn, Clarissa Burt, Arnoldo Foà and others.
