The exhibition 'Marmilla. Nuraghi and castles in the wheat lands', organized and promoted by the Barumini Sistema Cultura Foundation and the Municipalities of Barumini, Las Places, Sanluri, Villanovaforru e Villanovafranca, accompany the public, since Friday 14 September, opening day, until the end of next January, the discovery and conscious use of the property preserved in museums and archaeological sites of the five local authorities involved. The exhibition of the precious finds is set up in the 'Giovanni Lilliu' promotion center in Barumini in collaboration and with the support of the Superintendency of Archeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the metropolitan city of Cagliari and the provinces of Oristano and Southern Sardinia, of the museum complex of Sardinia and the archaeological museum of Cagliari, from which, among other findings, arrives (rather, 'back home') the nuragic bronze figurine of agent, found at Su Nuraxi.
MARMILLA, LANDSCAPE OF WHEAT. The rolling hills and fertile Marmilla form a picturesque landscape that has characterized society and economy of the peoples who have inhabited the Nuragic to the Judicial period representing the central theme of the exhibition. The growing wheat always has been, for civilization here have alternated, the peculiar and principal place of business in its tracks, from ancient times, They are countless and constant: despite the passage of centuries, the characteristics of marmillesi hills have remained almost unchanged. A control and protection of this landscape, symbols of prestige and political and economic power, took turns nuraghi and castles: Su Nuraxi e Nuraxi'e Church in Barumini, nuraghe Genna Maria of Villanovaforru, nuraghe on Mill of Villanovafranca, Marmilla Castle in Las Plassas and Sanlur Castlei.
EQUIPMENT AND EXHIBITION. The exhibition, divided into sections, from the Nuragic age to the Judicial era, will exhibit original finds, made available by the respective museums, and spectacular reproductions in high visual impact, direct evidence of agricultural activities throughout the history of the Marmilla. The exhibition sections will be 'easy to read' with tools and settings to 'decode' the Scientific Signs, in view of a content use, adapted to the needs of all users, by younger adults. The scientific dimension will be accompanied by a narrative dimension and popular, thanks to multimedia technologies. The exhibition will work as a showcase and reference to all the museums and archaeological sites involved and promoted. At the exhibition will be accompanied workshops, projects for school kids, conferences, various animations, to raise awareness of a rich cultural resources of the territory.
