Reggia di Caserta
Saturday 10 November at 17.30 inaugurates "Cosmetics Relations", collective exhibition curated by Massimo Scaringella and organized by VILLAM, which will be held at the Royal Palace of Caserta until the 20 December 2018.
Fourteen contemporary artists, Italian and international, several generations, They were invited to participate with selected works or made site specific spaces of the Royal Palace, proposing a new vision through contemporary art. Artists with different mediums - video, environmental installation, light art, photography, sculpture, painting - but connected for formal or substantial affinity in a surprising path that interacts directly with the internal and external environments of the Palace. Each according to his own poetical, each with their own elective materials, try to instaurarvi a dialogue as intense as possible, that eventually, in the plurality of entries, It returns a new space, a "world" again more complex and boosted. Works with a strong visual impact provoke the viewer intimately, involving them from the first to the last room in a continuous revelation of poetic expressions and perceptions.
In imposing backdrop of historical immensity that hosts this exhibition - writes the curator Massimo Scaringella - the works of contemporary artists have a particular prominence as foreign environments. It creates in this way an apparent visual conflict, which at the same time leads us to a temporal amalgam effect that transports us out of time. "The establishment of a sacred space where you can relive a mythical scene in this timeless, is the archetypal man's response to his terror of history, of becoming and dissolution in multiplicity " (Mircea Eliade). The eternal return both safe cognitive domain, both as exorcism throbbing universe that artists invoke and celebrate, and as a refuge from the dizzying pace of a universal tide, make it seem the closest space to our ineffable and recognizable humanity.
During the inauguration event, double video projection on a large scale, of Cagol, the iconic and majestic facade of the Royal Palace, It will offer a highly evocative and symbolic use where the heat captured in infrared video becomes a metaphor of energy and life.
Inside the rooms of works will be exhibited: Francesca Arri, Carlo Bernardini, Filippo Berta, Cagol, Aisha Cahn, Patricia Claro, Shay Frisch, Goldschmied & Chiari, Jorge Miño, Tracey Moffat, Moneyless, Sukran Moral, Put Alessandro, Stevens Vaughn.
Villam is a fluid project, the ambitious work produced by the natural evolution of the artistic research of Anita Calà, that "every event aims to be a sort of dress rehearsal for the next", in a creative continuum that collect cultural innovations of a fast changing world, ready to form the power excellence, through the exchange and dissemination. A long-term project so, curatorial and artistic at the same time, that aims to be a relational engine and, inspired by the idea of "factory", to partially revise the mechanisms of the current "system" of creation-production-use from the point of view of the artists, but always in relation to contemporary art users.
