The Sicilian region, in itself it is all beautiful: visiting it should be the obligatory passage where you can get lost among the bright colors of the sea, of the sky and the landscape.
But as with all beautiful things there are “seats” which are even more beautiful because they are small jewels, embedded in phantasmagoric worlds: are the villages.
And as for all regions that possess them, Sicily is not far behind either “gives” of enchanting.
To be nominated among the most beautiful villages you must have some basic requirements:

– the Capuchin Museum: it stands where the Capuchin Convent and the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli used to be, built in the period from 1695 al 1710;
– the Civic-Archaeological Museum of Palazzo Sgadari: finds have been found from the Archaic age to the Paleochristian age. Here there is also a permanent exhibition of the painter's works Gianbecchina;
– the Weapons Museum: has a collection of 144 weapons between ancient and modern;
– the Ethno-anthropological Museum: work tools of the ancient peasants of Gangi are exhibited;
– the Photography Museum: there are very old cameras on display, photos and memorabilia that were part of the collection of Giuseppe and Francesco Albergamo, photographers of the early 1900s.
They can be visited: – i Educational Museums of White Arms and Ancient Musical Instruments at the rooms of the Castle;
– the Eugenio Belfiore Photographic Museum at the Cultural Foundation “I talk about it” that tells, with pictures, the history of Montalbano.
– the Church of San Calogero: headquarters of the Gianbecchina Institution, where you can admire his paintings;
– the small theater of’ ‘800 “L’idea“;
– l from Monastery of Santa Chiara in which the sculptures of Sylvie Clavel (artist of the knot and intertwining).
These villages have been recognized as the most beautiful in Italy, during transmission “At the foot of Kilimanjaro” in which a prize is presented and recognized for the most beautiful villages: the award is entitled “Borgo dei Borghi“.
Twenty villages for a month (one per region) contend for the podium and the judgment of a jury of experts and web users.
