But also the splendid Puglia has nothing to envy to Maldives ed ai Caribbean more “known” in the world.

How it turned out?

The discovery of this “Announcements” in Puglia is the work of researchers from the department of Biology of the University of Bari, led by the director Giuseppe Corriero (marine biologist and former nature guide in the Maldives), also assisted byUniversity of Salento.

Where is it?

The Apulian coral reef extends to approx 2,5 km from the coast of Monopoly with depths of about 40-55m but it is thought that it can extend over a much larger area (circa 200 km) that goes from Bari to Otranto.

So much so that many fishermen in the marine area between Casalabate, Cerano, Chianca Tower e San Cataldo (prov. of Lecce), they find themselves in their own fishing net sponges e live corals similar to those of the Maldives and Caribbean seabeds.

Random discovery

The Italian coral reef is located in the Mediterranean Sea and is truly a unique case found on the Italian coasts but it is being decided to check all the seabed…who knows…maybe others will be discovered! And our beautiful Italy will be known and also counted for this beautiful one “surprise”.

Maybe it will be “famous” for other UNESCO World Heritage Sites? Who knows…

Thanks to the use of new technologies, this discovery has been made and by exploiting their potential, new discoveries can also be made at marine level.

Words and…word of Dr.. I ran!
