Basilicata it is surrounded by two seas: Tyrrhenian Sea formed by high water and inlets and the Ionian Sea whose beaches are more suitable for families and children.
In Basilicata there are beautiful beaches also equipped with pine forests to shelter from the excessive heat and to have some refreshment.

- Metaponto: it is equipped with equipped beaches but also with large free beaches located in unspoiled nature. The beach runs along the entire coast and has a beautiful golden sand. It has many pine forests that give you the opportunity to rest in the cool;
- Nova Siri Marina: in ancient times it was known by the name of “Boiled“. The beach is bathed in clear water with sandy bottoms suitable for children. In these shores there were filming of the film: “Three brothers” by Francesco Rosi;
- Calatas of Maratea: they are small sandy beaches nestled between rocks and vegetation. The most beautiful is surely Calaficarra formed of gravel and pebbles. They are beaches suitable for those who love nature and relaxation but also for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts due to the depth of the waters;
- Cala Jannita: it is one of the most renowned beaches of Basilicata also called Black beach for the dark color of the sand. Beach surrounded by cliffs and woods that form the Illicini Natural Park. Fascinating beach also for the presence of the Sciabella cave in which the turquoise color of the sea is reflected. Right on this beach, Laura Pausini, recorded the video of the song “It's not for sure“;
- Bosco Pantano beach in Policoro: it's about a WWF nature reserve. This beach was chosen by sea turtles, including the species Caretta Caretta, to lay eggs;
- Porticello of Maratea (Acquafredda): overlooking a bay. This beach is known because it is present in the middle of the sea a bubble of fresh water it's cold also visible from the road. E’ surrounded by thick vegetation and located in one large natural cavity: the Dragon's cave;
- Illicini beach in Maratea: the name of the beach derives from the presence of dwarf holm oaks (in dialect “illicini“). The beach with shallow water is stuck in the rocks;
- Lido di Scanzano Jonico: is defined “the town beach“. Free beach and beaches: all kissed by a clear sea with sandy bottoms that become deeper moving away. The beach has nightlife spots;
- Lido di Policoro: is located not far from archaeological site of the ancient city of Eraclea. The beach is sandy and alternates between free beaches and well-equipped beaches: crystal clear sea with shallow waters but which become deeper as you set off towards the open sea. The beach is also bordering to the south with’WWF Oasis Policoro Herakleia;
- Riva dei Ginepri: it is one of the most exclusive beaches in Basilicata. The peculiarity is that the umbrellas are spaced apart to be able to spend days relaxing and…not only…the relaxation corners are equipped with sofas and thatched covers to enjoy an excellent aperitif in front of the sea view. The beach is wide with fine sand surrounded by a crystal clear sea and low depths.
