The ancient Morgantina site offers the visitor a picture of over a thousand years of history. Such knowledge of history, the urban and Morgantina monuments is the result of approximately one thirty years of excavation campaigns, who unearthed nearly all of the city center, as well as a part of the residential areas, for a total 30% of the total that still covered. According to the archaeological excavations, we know now that Morgantina possessed one of the oldest plants of orthogonal inland Sicily and, in the moment of greatest splendor in sec.
