Located in the district of Casalnuovo, The convicinium of Sant'Antonio is made up of four churches built between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries: Through a portal with an ogival arch you access the courtyard on which the rock environments dedicated to San Primo overlook, Sant'Eigio (or the Annunciation), San Donato and Sant'Antonio Abate. Each of them presents traces of adaptation to new destinations of use since, Between the end of the eighteenth century and the early nineteenth century, they lost the function of places of worship; There are palments that served for the production of wine and cellars allocated in the lower floors. The first church placed immediately after the entrance arch, It is dedicated to San Primo and has a very simple structure divided into two small chapels. Through it, the crypt of Sant'Eigio is accessed, Here we recognize the classroom where the faithful and the presbytery reserved for the celebrant gathered. The walls show remains of frescoes, among which a representation of the Christ Pantociatore made in the 14th century. Follows the crypt of San Donato which has a square structure with a square plan, The vaults define the liturgical spaces and are embellished with decorative elements. Part of the pictorial complex that adorned the walls is still legible: A face of San Donato can be observed; An image of San Leonardo with a monacal dress and some religious scenes made in the seventeenth century. The fourth and last church consists of a chapel named in Sant'Antonio Abate. It has a rectangular plant divided into three apsidal naves. Here too it is possible to admire some frescoes including a portrait of Sant'Antonio Abate and one of San Sebastiano, both of the fifteenth century.
