        The complex of Genna Maria was built on top of a hill 408 m. s.l.m., in a strategic position (such as to be able to control all the plain of the Campidano, from Cagliari to Oristano), between the Middle Bronze Age and the Bronze Final (XV-XI sec. a.C.), circa 3500 Years ago. At the center of the settlement is a trefoil nuraghe - the central tower reached the 8/10 meters high and the bastion walls came to 7 meters - , equipped with a courtyard with a well and surrounded by a rampart towered. Around a village, born around the tenth century BC, in full Iron Age, that it established on the ruins dell'antemurale, until it reaches the rampart trefoil. Of great importance is the "central court house", large well 150 square meters and divided into a series of rooms that converge on a single backyard.

        The complex of Genna Maria is in a wooded park, It located on the top of a hill 408 m. s. l. m. about one km from the village of Villanovaforru. In exceptionally dominant position, with a visual field that allows to roam seamlessly from the Gulf of Cagliari to that of Oristano, you can easily walk through dirt paths and partly paved. The Introductory Unit to the excavations is provided with panels that illustrate the characteristics of the complex nuragico put into light by excavations on the hilltop. The nuragic complex consists of a complex three-lobed nuraghe surrounded by a rampart turreted constructed and used in controlling the territory between the Middle Bronze and Final Bronze (XV-XI sec. a.C.).
