Il progetto “Rete Siti Unesco” è cofinanziato dal Ministero per i beni e le attività culturali, e ha partecipato al bando di cui al D.M. 13 December 2010 "Innovative services for tourist catchment", positioning 7th among more 'than 400 proposals received.
The project sees the involvement of 15 local authorities of the South having a Unesco site located at 4 different regions, Lead with the Province of Matera (2 Metropolitan Cities: Metro City Bari, Metro City Palermo, 4 Province: Barletta Andria Trani, Caserta, Foggia, Salerno, 2 Free Municipal Consortia: Syracuse, Enna, 6 Common: Alberobello, Benevento, Matera, Monte Sant'Angelo, Known, Barumini) and as a partner the Association of South Provinces UNESCO Italy.
The project puts in connection the UNESCO sites of the South, in order to give life to an interregional network between the territories of Southern Italy that are home to a world heritage site, and thus to promote, from the attractiveness of the UNESCO brand, and through the use of new technologies, the set of landscape resources, cultural, food and wine of these territories, in un’offerta turistica unica e integrata.

The heart of the project lies in the informative web portal (www.unesconet.eu), from which you can make a virtual tour of the sites, build personalized itineraries and enjoy an array of services, and integrated virtual card services, a tool downloadable from the web portal or via apps on smartphones, allowing tourists to access the resources PatrimonidelSud circuit (unesconet), ovvero risorse ricettive, museums, environmental, Business, of transport, and tourist services in the territories.
It is also carrying the first traveling festival of UNESCO “#festivalexperience”, in the territories of the Project. Participation in the events is free. The confirmations of participation must be sent to: eventi@unesconet.eu
