Trekking on the Gargano: where to go?

Gargano is the northernmost territory of Puglia and is known for its fantastic holiday destinations rather than for the National Park: Vieste, Peschici, Morning and the Tremiti islands, locations are far more notes Umbra Forest which it is the green lung of the Gargano.

This small part of Puglia has the richest variety of habitats in the Italian territory, due both to the morphologically diverse territory to its ancient history. Flora and fauna also have exclusive endemic species, such as rare spring orchids in the areas of Morning and Monte Sacro, an example is the small Ghost Orchid (10cm. tall) which grows hidden in the ground and beech leaves, and because it is a plant without chlorophyll, unable for years to make life underground to reappear unexpectedly with its elegant bloom..
